UGGGH!!! I got the Human Flu!

I got it from my auntie Linda.  Even though Tecumy told her not to, she went and got a flu shot.  Guess what happened then?  She got the flu!  Yes siree bob!!  That’s why they call it the Flu shot.  She was sick as a dog!  For 2 whole weeks.  She had to go to the doctor and  take medicine and everything, yes siree bob!  She made Tecumy sick for a few days, then me!  Yuk!  I couldn’t hold my meals down, not fun!  And I wasn’t hungry.  Imagine that, a piggy not hungry! Can you say oxymoron??  I am feeling much better now.   Humom  has been giving me only banana, it is easy on my stomach and apple juicy water and I have been able to hold that down.  Humom has also been checking on me all day long, making sure I am ok, giving me banana snacks and making sure I stay tucked in under my binkies…..see why I love her?   She’s a keeper, yes siree, bob!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well, it is Thanksgiving and Zelda and I are very thankful for the loving home we have.
We were both in need of a home and Tecumy took us in.  She gives us love, proper food,
I have my own room, Zelda has plenty of cozy places to sleep, we stay warm in the winter and
we get doctor care when we need it.  We are very fortunate indeed.  We know there are many
other 4 leggeds that are not that lucky.  Because of this, we ask all of you who can, visit your local
shelters and adopt someone, or take in a stray if you can and give them a "forever" home.  If you are
not able to do that, perhaps you could make a donation of time or money to a shelter that is local to you or
go online to http://www.pigplacementnetwork.com/ to help piggies or
http://www.humanesociety.org and help someone who may be being neglected or abused and can't help
themselves.  Thank you.

Halloween Bash and Giveaway!

Oh goodness, I have been waiting for this forever!  I thought this day would never come...our Halloween Party!

First we got dressed in the  “secret “ costumes that our mammy, Elizabeth Johnson, made for us.

They are FANTASTIC!!  Zelda and I are witches!

Mine is orange and black with spiders

and Zelda is  and black and green with purple bats!

Aren’t they wonderful!?!  We vowed to never take them off!

To get to the party, we had to go through a cemetery

Oh my goodness, it was spooky!  Me and Zelda were too afraid to go through it.  It was scary! Yes siree bob!

Tecu’Mish and mammy told us it is just make believe, to not be afraid to walk through…..so after a few times going in then running back out, Zelda and I went through the cemetery to get to the party.

When  we got to the party room, we saw this sign:

Oh my goodness, we were scared again !  Was the witch a good witch or a bad witch?!  What about her monsters!

The witch didn’t say a word.   I took a few good sniffs of the air, us piggies have good smellers  and I didn’t smell any monsters and Zelda has fantastic eyesight , she can practically see in the dark, and she didn’t see any monsters, so we sneaked on past the witch, keeping lookout for the monsters!

We walked around the room, looking for the refreshments!  We made a stop so Zelda could have her fortune told.

She found out it was exactly like she had planned.  A long, happy and healthy life filled with love!

As we walked around, we found some things to eat.

We had chips, grapes, tuna and my favorite, candy corn!. Then we continued to look around at all the fun sights!

Boy, it was some party!
Now, before I go back home, I want to be sure and tell you about our Halloween Bash Giveaway!  Here are some pictures

.

Some of My Human Friends

I  believe that life is nicer  by knowing all kinds of people, so I have friends of as many different species as possible.  Now  I am going to introduce to you some of my human friends.  Some of them I met when I was just a little piggy and some I have yet to meet in person, but they all have made my life
happier and better.

In this first picture is Cathy and Margie down at the Community Thrift Store.  That store is my humom’s and  Auntie Linda’s favorite store.  They find all kinds of great clothing, house wares and  humom gets a lot of  the things she uses in her art there.  Plus, the price is right! And they have special, half-price items!

This is Tommy.  He volunteers at the store.  He works long hours and very hard, for FREE! Can you believe it?  The ladies like to tease him.

This is Heidi.

Isn’t she sweet?  She and Cathy own the store.  They both worked at the Salvation Army.  That is where I first met them.  They helped to rescue me and thanks to that, I now have a wonderful  home with a humom that loves me to pieces!  Everyone in town was sad when the Salvation Army closed their store in our town.  But then Cathy and Heidi had the great idea to start their own thrift store.  It is hard work
and worry, but they do a good job!

In this picture is Larry and Jutta down at the WalMart Pharmacy.

WalMart is humom’s 2nd favorite store.  We live in a small town, and WalMart is close and sells the essentials.

Here is Beth and Melody at the WalMart Pharmacy too.

I have allergies and I have gotten sinus infections from them.  All of my friends at WalMart make sure I get the medications that I need to get better.  I appreciate that.

Its wonderful to have  friends like these!

Times News Couture!

Peggy DAILEY Gatto of Peggy's Mixed Up Art came up with an art challenge:  dresses made from newspaper in honor of her mother and her mother's friends in the picture in Peggy's blog header. Click on the link at the end of this post to see Peggy's blog and to check out the other participants!  My mammy, Elizabeth B. Johnson designed and made me and my humom's outfits. They are wonderful, yes siree bob!  Check them out!

Didn't my mammy do a great job?!  We had the whole shebang, matching earrings, hats and purses!  I didn't get to drink much of my grape juice martini, the glass was a little high and I accidently knocked it over and it broke.  I figured, ok, I"ll just eat that big juicy olive, but it was fake! or "faux" as humom says.  It was still a lot of fun.  My auntie Linda took some good pictures, yes siree bob!

Pizza with the Girls!

Thursday humom and Auntie Linda spent the day with mammy and pappy setting up tables and stuff for Aunties yard sale out at her farm.  They worked at it all day and were exhausted when they got home.  They decided to treat themselves and have pizza from Marios for supper.  I LOVE pizza! Yes siree bob!   I haven’t had pizza in YEARS!  Humom told me I could have some if I came over to mammy’s, so even though that loud mouth Leopold was barking his foolish head off, I walked over to mammy’s house….she ended up putting him in the bedroom because he wouldn’t hush up.  Humom gave me the mushrooms off of her pieces of pizza!  They were yummy!!  I love the whole pizza, but ever since humom learned from Gay that us pot bellies are genetically engineered to gain weight on just a small amount of food, she is careful about what treats she gives me.  She used to share her dinner with me all the time.  I love Italian food! Yes siree bob! Especially spagetti!  Usually I just get some lettuce as a treat.  I wish we had pizza every night!!  It is sooooo GOOOOOD!!!  Yes siree bob!

Some Feline Relatives

Today I am going to share some pictures of some of my feline relatives.  The first picture is of my cousin Mungo Johnson.

He is a cute little boy that is about 3 years old.  He really doesn’t know that he is a feline.  My mammy took him in when he was just about  3  weeks old.  His mother was a wild stray and he was very sick and needed to see a doctor.  Tecumy got him medical care and Mammy gave him his medicine and fed him with a bottle. Thankfully, he got better.  Shaba, my canine cousin, used to watch over him and wash his face as if she were his mother.
Here is a picture of him when he was a baby.

This is a picture of my auntie Minemoto.

She is 13 years old. She moved here from Chelsea with my humom and is from a Boston shelter.  Isn’t she pretty?  Her fur is super  soft and silky, I like to rub my snout on it.  She shares my room with me.  She likes to sleep up high on the shelf in my room.

This is my cousin Chekala, she is pretty too.

She was a stray that was living on top of the Blue Mountain.  Mammy and Pappy took her in a few years ago.  She is very sweet.  She stays up on the counter in the middle of the kitchen and everyone who walks through the kitchen has to stop and scratch her behind her ears.

Here is beautiful cousin Molly.

She is a Persian.  She was adopted from a shelter.  Mammy and Pappy saw her on TV.  The shelter was desperate  for somebody to adopt her.  She had been there for a little while, but was so upset about it, she was not eating or drinking and they were afraid she was going to die.  So mammy and pappy went the next day to get her.  She is happy here.  She especially loves Pappy.  She loves to lay on his chest when he is laying on the couch in his den reading.

A little under the weather

Hi everybody.  I haven't been blogging lately because I haven't been feeling too hot.  I have a sinus infection, but my doctor prescribed me some antibiotics and I go to see him tomorrow for another allergy shot so I am sure to be feeling fine real soon.  Humom took me outside for some fresh air today and that was nice.  I liked walking around in mammy and pappy's yard.  Here are some pictures: (you may notice my front hooves are painted orange, that was for a photo shoot, I'll tell you all about that another time!)
