My Canine Cousins

I have 3 canine cousins who live next store.  Here is the picture of the biggest one, Clancy.

He’s ok.  When I was a little piglet and would be out in the yard in my harness attached to a tree on a long lead (even though humom was nearby) Clancy would chew through my lead for me, in case I wanted to take off. He and I got into an argument only once, over some food, but Tecumy stepped  in and put a stop to it right away.
The smallest one is Shaba, aka “Bucky”  She’s ok too, but she gets real jealous if my mammy, in her estimation, pays too much  attention to me. When I was smaller, she would jump up and nip at my ears. Here is a picture of her .

She goes to the beauty parlor and gets shaved.  Here is also a picture of her with some ducks down at the Pohopoco Creek, they all seemed to like each other.

The third one is Leopold, he gets a shave too.  He is a maltese.

He has only been living here about 4 months.  His other humom passed on and he needed a home, so my mammy and pappy took him in.  He's real cute but he still needs to learn manners. My mammy says he will, he is just still a puppy.  I have only been around him twice and that was enough for me!  The first time, all he did was bark at me. Can you spell RUDE!  The second time was outside and I  thought he was getting smarter.  He came up to me nicely and sniffed my snout, I was wagging my tail and put up my snout so he could sniff it and I sniffed his nose, then he barked and nipped my snout!  I knew he was just being "not too smart" but Tecumy had a hissy fit!  She told him, “Get away from her you rude boy!” and he kept barking so mammy took him in the house.  Sometimes the canines try to come into our house, but Zelda and her littermates don’t really care for them so Tecumy doesn’t let them in much.  When my mammy and pappy are away in Minnesota, she will sometimes let Shaba come over, but she is smaller than the cats, so they don’t seem to mind her as much.

Choosing a movie

Our TV broke over a year ago and Tecumy hasn’t replaced it.  She  had that TV since 1984 and thinks it will cost more to get it fixed than  buying a new one will cost, that‘s if it can be fixed. She believes that nowadays things are not made to be fixed but to just be  thrown away when they break--”disposable” she calls it and she says this is very wasteful.  We don’t really miss the television.  If there is something our humom wants to watch, she goes next door and watches it there.  We listen to the radio over the computer instead and this is fine with us.  The other day Tecumy got an offer from Netflix for a free 2 week trial offer.  Some of the videos you can get over the computer, so Zelda and I are trying to choose a movie to watch.  I want to watch this one, but Zelda says it is rated “R” so she won’t order it for me.  I thinks she’s wrong.  What do you think?

Sometimes Naughty Just Happens

When I got up this morning, I was hungry and wanted breakfast.  My humom was really tired and wanted to sleep in.  So what was I supposed to do?  I went into the kitchen and started looking around to see if I could find something to have for breakfast, then my humom wouldn’t have to get up, I could take care of myself.  I found some boxes and bags - Tecumy is trying to “remodel”. I started tipping over the boxes so I could go through them. ( Zelda is shaking her head in a disapproving  manner). I had to take things out of their packaging so I could “taste” them to see if they were food.(“Stop it Zelda!”)  Maybe I shouldn’t have done that and waited (now Zelda is shaking her head “yes”, “you don‘t have to type everything I say!”) but I couldn’t help myself!  “Now she is rolling her eyes!  Smarty pants Zelda!”

“When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace”. ***

Zelda and I are homebodies. If we had our way, we would never go out. But Tecumy likes to see and do things, so we go on imaginary trips with her to keep her company and make sure she is safe. She wanted to go back to when she was a “flower child” and go to the Woodstock Festival of 1969. So off we went to make love not war. Here are some pictures:

Don’t tell Tecumy, but while we were there, I got real hungry.
So I went rooting around for something to eat. I dug up some mushrooms over by the trees, I thought they were truffles, but then, I’m thinking they weren’t because all of a sudden there was:

“Purple Haze all in my brain.
Lately things just don’t seem the same
Actin' funny but I don’t know why
'scuse me while I kiss the sky***

Hee hee hee! When I got home I had to go straight to bed, yes siree bob!

Rubba dub dub, Piggy in the tub!

Zelda thought of today's title, although all I got today was a face washing. The picture is an old one. It has been over a year since I have been in my mammy and pappy's tub. My humom (human mom) and Aunty Linda used to lift me up and put me in the tub on a pretty regular basis. I hated it! Contrary to popular belief, not ALL piggies enjoy getting wet. I don't, no way blue jay! And I don't wallow in mud either! Hate it! And snow? Yuck! My humom agrees with me on that one. I like to stay nice and dry. I will drink water (if it has juice in it) and other beverages, but I don't want them on me. I love snow cones....after the inital brain freeze! Its been a long while since I have had one. I'll have to communicate to my humom that its about time I have another one of those, yes siree bob! They are tasty. In case you haven't noticed, I have a sweet tooth. My humom does too, so she does understand, but the amount of sugar I am allowed to have is just a teeny, tiny bit, every once and awhile. She says it isn't good for me and it makes me belligerent. I am not quit sure what that means, but I know it isn't good. Sometimes I dream of eating all the things I love, like cookies, cake, candy, chocolate and Tecumy, my humom knows when I do that! She says she hears me in the middle of the night slurping my tongue, chewing real loud and gulping! It makes her giggle! In the morning she asks me how did I enjoy my feast?! Well, it is getting time for me and Zelda to go to bed. We may take an imgaginary trip for a couple of days, but when we get back, we will write and show pictures!

Hello Everyone!!

I am so excited to be on the WWW! I have kept a real book diary for a few years now, but I think
this one will be much more fun. My sister and BFF (best feline friend) Zelda will be helping me.
My dainty hooves were not made to type, work a camera or use scissors whereas Zelda's paws
are almost just like hands so she is going to be my "Gal Friday". Here is a picture of Zelda:

Isn't she pretty? And she is really really smart too. She spells better than me so it is good she is doing the typing. That brings me to this: please remember that English is a second language to us. My first language is High Pig Latin. To you, this sounds like a bunch of grunts, huffs, oinks and sighs. Zelda's first language is Maow. Although we cannot speak it, we can understand each others language. So, if you are a professional writer, English major, teacher or just plain hiney retentive about such things as grammar and spelling, perhaps it would be best if you took some relaxing deep breaths and turned on some soothing music whilst reading this blog. Also, Zelda and I of the mind that since English is a live language that is a tool for communication, we will make up words as we may need them. We will try to find a way to keep a listing of those words on this blog. Looking forward to sharing with you!
